Our team executed a strategic Public Relations campaign from conceptualisation through to execution of the first Melbourne Day family concert on Melbourne’s birthday, August 30, 2015.
The inaugural Melbourne Day concert was headlined by Aussie music icons Daryl Braithwaite and Russell Morris, and attended by over 15,000 Melburnians. The media hype and publicity surrounding the weekend event was achieved through media promotions and media coverage in both traditional and digital platforms, valued at over $1 million.
Tyrrell Publicity & Promotions was once again asked to create and execute a strategic PR and media campaign to generate awareness for Melbourne’s 181st anniversary. The campaign included a major launch party event with key media, government officials, stakeholders and sponsors. We also secured major media partnerships with leading Melbourne radio stations 3AW and Gold 104.3 attending, with 3AW’s top-rating Breakfast Show with John and Ross hosting a live outside broadcast to celebrate Melbourne Day.
For the third year running our team worked on the PR campaign for the City of Melbourne’s Birthday that generated awareness of Melbourne’s 182nd anniversary. We worked across key Melbourne Day campaign initiatives such as: The Junior Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Melbourne Day Family Concert at Docklands, a Schools Education Program and the official flag raising ceremony – which resulted in TV news coverage across all major Melbourne stations.
With our campaigns Melbourne Day has achieved huge exposure and seems to be getting bigger and better each year.
