Port Melbourne’s Bay Street strip will be alight with festive Christmas shopfronts installations – reminiscent of the famed Myer Christmas windows – with its third annual “Port Melbourne Christmas Carol Experience” shopfront Christmas Lights.

Officially launched with a Bay Street Christmas Lights Family Festival on the night of Friday November 27, 2015 from 6pm - 9pm - the famed strip will be lit up with more than 200 shops showcasing 1,000 Christmas Carol window displays.

The bayside beach front - stretching from Beach Road through to the town hall -- and surrounding streets - stretching all the way down to the bayside waterfront at station pier and Beach Street for the month leading up to Christmas Day - with more than 200 local business shops individually decorated by local artist -- Roz Zweifel -- and her team of young Monash art students.

"The street's family festival is in its third year and this year's family festival will include entertainment for the entire family with Santa, Melbourne Singers of Gospel, buskers, face painters, local school choir performances, jazz bands, reading and cooking classes for kids, Greek and Mauritius music and dancers" said Port Melbourne Business Association's President- Paul Littman.

"Inspired by the life and the locals of the bustling Port Melbourne community, the specially themed windows will have scenes depicting: Silent Night, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, We Three Kings, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and of course the timeless Jingle Bells", he said.

The Port Melbourne Christmas windows won the marketing award last year from -- Main Street Australia -- an award from the organisation representing the strip shopping centres throughout Australia - that recognises marketing initiatives through the retail industry.

So gather the family down to Port Melbourne - as this year's Christmas windows promise to be a delight for locals and visitors, both young and old, as the windows come to life - guaranteed to provide plenty of Christmas cheer as you take the journey through Port Melbourne's very own, very special Christmas Carol experience.
