The Jasper Hotel – a 65 room, four-star boutique hotel - located at the Queen Victoria Market End of the Melbourne CBD – has just started a seven million dollar refurbishment and redesign and is offering Melbournians, Victorians and visitors to the Southern Capital – a ridiculously low “Refurbishment Rate Special”.

With completion scheduled for September 26, 2014 - between now and then the Jasper Hotel is are offering a ridiculously reduced rate of just $89.00 per night - no strings attached/available seven nights per week.

"We want to become the favourite hotel of choice in Melbourne - for those looking for centrally-located, quality affordable accommodation in the Southern Capital's CBD", said General Manager - Doug Smith.

The four-star boutique hotel is perfect for the leisure traveller - due to its central location in the heart of the CBD in Elizabeth Street - and is well known for its unique individual floor by floor - colour schemes (each accommodation floor is unique in colour throughout the corridors, lift wells and some of the room interiors: the Red Floor, the Pink Floor, The Blue Floor ...and so on)

Only moments from Melbourne's popular new shopping hubs - The Emporium, H & M's, the Bourke Street Mall - and only a couple of blocks from Etihad Stadium - it is also perfect for weekend guests to catch all of the AFL action - with a tram stop right outside the property for ease of travel throughout the city to explore the city's laneways and iconic sites.

The architect of the Jasper project is David Lee - who interestingly, also designed Melbourne's iconic Eureka Tower - is executing a number of changes to the hotel including a communal courtyard with synthetic grass, expansive and unique Jasper Stone light fittings on Levels 2 & 3 to resemble their outlook from the Australian Billabongs - henceforth the Hotel's name!

The Jasper Hotel was officially launched in 2005 - and in its previous life was the official YWCA budget traveller hotel prior to this. The seven million dollar refurbishment will see 25 more accommodation suites, a new lobby, conference and events space, restaurant and bar, plus new executive lounges providing free coffee, tea and snacks.

Whilst the bar and restaurant is currently closed due to refurbishment -the Jasper Hotel is surrounded by delicious food choices, turn left out of the main entrance and you are at the Queen Victoria Market - a prime food destination in Melbourne selling fresh fruit and vegetable, meat, poultry, cheese, wine baked goods and more!

By the beginning of October 2014, upon completion of the refurbishment, the Jasper Hotel will be able to boast 90 rooms instead of 65 on its eight levels - as level two has been in disuse since the building was taken over by Jasper from the YWCA when it was a basketball court.
