Three of the Yarra Valley’s premium wineries – Fergusson Winery, Mandala Wines and Balgownie Estate – have joined forces to present a delectable three-course dinner that is sure to be a highlight of the Yarra Valley Food & Wine Festival 2013.

The Progressive Dinner will serve up a seperate course of Yarra Valley produce and fine wines at each of the wineries on Friday April 12, 2013.

Start your evening in the Barrel Room of award winning Fergusson Winery for welcome drinks, where you will be greeted by a glass of champagne and some delicious morsels to wet your appetite.

Then head to Mandala Wines to discover that the vineyard that creates great wine also produces great food! In the glass room restaurant head chef Neil Cunningham will prepare a two-course menu using seasonal local produce, both courses served with a glass of matched wine.

After mains, it is time to tantalise your taste buds at Balgownie Estate where a sweet night air cocktail party awaits. Enjoy warm hospitality in a relaxed and stylish atmosphere for a selection of French inspired treats and mulled wine with tea and coffee available for those driving home.

“The 2013 Yarra Valley Food & Wine Festival Program is overflowing with amazing food and wine experiences, exclusive to this event,” said Event Manager, Deborah Langley.

“This event highlights the food and wine expertise of three fantastic wineries – giving you a real ‘taste’ of the Yarra Valley, all in one evening.”

The Progressive Dinner starts at 7pm at Fergusson Winery and ends at 11pm at Balgownie Estate. Tickets cost $160.00 per person and can be booked online at www.yarravalleyfestival.com.au

Transfers for this event have been arranged by Yarra Valley Winery Tours with pick ups from Yarra Glen Grand Hotel, Healesville Hotel, Lilydale Station, Balgownie Estate or Fergusson Winey included in the ticket price.

Local accommodation pick up can be arranged for a small additional fee.

For some fantastic free entertainment during the Yarra Valley Food & Wine Festival, head to Dominique Portet for a Sparkling Feast & French Market or to the Yarra Valley Dairy for Pasta Making with Yarra Valley Cheese, both on Saturday April 13, 2013.

Ben Portet, winemaker at Dominique Portet, will have his harvest almost completed and it will be time for us to kick up our heals and celebrate.

Enjoy a traditional Parisian “Jambon baguette” with our wine, while exploring the French market at the winery. Music, art, clothing, home wares, and of course crêpes. 

join chef Pauline Leonard at the Yarra Valley Dairy as she demonstrates how easy it is to make delicious fresh pasta using the Yarra Valley Dairy’s cheeses.
