The Yarra Valley’s award-winning Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa has appointed a new Head Chef-- Stuart Harvey – and has just launched the new Autumn Menu at the resort’s Rae’s Restaurant. Stuart is a local Yarra Valley resident and most recently was Head Chef at “The Vines” at Helens Hill in Coldstream where he developed a passion for fresh food, seasonality and using regional produce. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position at Balgownie Estate and showcases his unique cooking style in the new innovative Autumn Menu.

"I am very excited to be appointed as the new head chef at Rae's Restaurant and want to take the restaurant to the next level. Our varying dishes on this new Autumn menu represent the bountiful produce sourced from an extensive network of local suppliers here in the Yarra Valley and also our very own Balgownie Estate kitchen garden" says Stuart Harvey.

With a modern approach this Autumn Menu take diners on a culinary journey, using only the highest quality and locally sourced ingredients, each dish paired to a recommended wine from Balgownie Estate's in-house sommelier.

When visiting Rae's Restaurant for lunch, diners can indulge in entrées such as; Lamb kofta, Fried cambo style calamari, Rae's tasting board, Yarra Valley pasta ravioli and Buxton trout trio
For a bountiful lunch, mains include; Nannagai fish fillet, Chicken cassoulette, Veal shank, Porterhouse, Grilled pork sirloin and Sweet potato & lentil erisheri.

Or for a more luxurious experience, visit Rae's Restaurant for an unforgettable dinner experience and choose from a two course option for $60.00, or indulge in a three course meal for $74.00.

They can enjoy exotic entrées such as; Soup De Jour, Puff pastry duck & Yarra Valley feta pithivier, Poached Chinese black satin wandin quail, Baked truffle oysters, Rae's tasting board and the Fried cambo style calamari.

Treat your tastebuds to a decadent meal with mains like; House smoked half spitchcock, Grilled Black Angus 300g porterhouse, Regional meat terraine, Fish of the day, Chicken bastilla, Duck Coldstream chorizo tagine, and Sweetcorn & red pepper curry.

And to finish the meal a range of desserts are available to choose from including; Zesty lime cheesecake, Broken glass, Chocolate terrine, Frozen Chill, YV apple, honey & cinnamon layered cake, Dessert asiette for two or a cheese selection- these delights will sure have everyone truly satisfied.
