Balgownie Estate Bendigo is dishing up a lavish Bastille Day celebration for the staunchest of Francophiles, with a delectable six-course degustation menu served in the exclusive wine Barrel Room. Held on July 14 guests can celebrate the most French day of the year and dine in style from only $110.00 without matching wines or $170.00 with matching wines - très magnifique!

Enjoy a French-inspired dinner menu, created specially by Bagownie's Head Chef, Travis Rodwell that will reflect his unique French-style cooking, inspired by fresh local ingredients and set to match with Balgownie's range of wines.

Travis will be paying tribute to his love for French cuisine as he invites guests to dine in the captivating Barrel Room taking them on a French culinary journey. Starting at 6.30pm guests will be welcomed with champagne and classic canapes such as Freshly shucked oysters, caviar, Baked snails wrapped in jamon, Chicken liver & foie gras parfait en croute cornichons.

These canapes are followed by decadent dishes including, Scallop & prawn boudin blanc, poached crayfish tail, leek fondue shaved black truffle, bisque veloute, Roasted squab breast, trompette de mort, celeriac puree, piquant sauce, Veal consommé, tomato concasse, tarragon &chervil, Centre block braised wagyu cheek, pea puree, celeriac remoulade, broad beans- all matched with Balgownie's selection of fine wine, handpicked by one of Balgownie's senior sommeliers.

And to finish this French affair is Two French cheeses, cabernet & quince jelly, pear lavosh, bread, muscatels.
